Front No-Zones

Pass Safely!

You could get "rear-ended" by a truck or bus if you "cut-in front" too soon after passing, then immediately slow down. If you do this, truck and bus drivers are forced to slam on their brakes. They need nearly twice the time and room to stop as cars. So, when passing, look for the whole front of the truck in your rear-view mirror before pulling in front, and then don't slow down!

The road area directly in front of a tractor trailer is a No-Zone and may be difficult for the driver to see. This animation shows the necessity for smaller vehicles to avoid the front No-Zone of a truck by leaving sufficient distance in front of the tractor trailer so they may be seen by the truck's driver.
